Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Inflatable Rescue Boat for Training and Water Safety

The Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club have secured funding from the Geoffrey Evans Trust to purchase an Inflatable Rescue Boat with motor.

The Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club was established in 1959 and is one of Victoria’s largest surf life saving clubs in terms of membership, area patrolled and number of rescues. It is the only surf life saving club on Phillip Island and its volunteers patrol some of Victoria’s most dangerous beaches.

Woolamai Beach SLSC’s application shows that they are a far-reaching organization, not only volunteering and providing safety on the beaches but bringing communities such as local schools together through training programs and activities.

“Our club is based on family values and volunteerism. Youth involved in WBSLSC learn the value of volunteering and giving back to the community in which they live. Volunteering forms part of their development and progression through the club, assisting to connect them to the community and their peers.”
